soft hands.

8.17.2006
i'm back from a mostly relaxing cape may minivacation, which featured:

- sunburn within the first 20 minutes
- a hula hoop contest and dollar beers, something i didn't think existed anymore
- the best pizza (white, thin crust: pancetta, sage, parmigiano reggiano, carmelized onions) and key lime martini i've ever had, both of which which i am now obsessed with recreating
- NO baseball, except for a strange little dinery cafe which boasts memorabilia like babe ruth's wheelchair, joe pepitone's hairdryer, and a creepy talking statue of ruth thing

but it's nice to come home, especially to news like:
CBS4 has confirmed that the Red Sox have acquired both Eric Hinske and Carlos Pena.

Hinske is coming from Toronto for a minor league player-to-be-named-later and will join the team immediately as the Sox open up a five game weekend series with the New York Yankees Friday. The deal was waiting the commissioner's office approval. [cbs4 boston]

shall refrain from commenting on the extremely annoying pena thing, choosing instead to focus on my complete and total bilious horror at my current least favorite player going to my least favorite team. fitting.

  • i loooooooove cape may!!!! CONGRESS HALL!!!

the best key lime martini in NY is at Ava Lounge. criminally overpriced tho ($14 or i think maybe even $16 for a very scant 3.5 oz that seems to get scanter every time)
