Brian Cashman has agreed to a three-year deal worth about $5.5 million to return as Yankees general manager. According to a Major League Baseball official, an announcement is being held until the World Series is finished.

    U KNOW WHAT WOULD BE SUPER AWESOME? IF THE YANKEES TRADED FOR SCOTT ROLEN AND HE KILLED BOWA BY ACCIDENT ONE TIME BY ROARING INTO THIRD ON A TRIPLE WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE.

    seriously, the guy isn't fragile, or a liar. i think if anything he plays too hard and that's why he keeps getting his bad self destroyed in various unnecessary ways. i don't think you can tell someone like that to stop sliding neck first into home, or to pull up short at first because of a bad throw from the pitcher and rip out both your ACLs, or whatever. just to pick some totally random examples.

    he would be the awesomest left fielder ever. he'd probably put people like vlad to shame, throwing bb's to the plate at 100 mph from deep in the corner. people would probably stop trying to score from third, even, on fly balls out there.

    don't miss him or anything.
