"'You know, everyone wants us to win the World Series, but I don't think the season is only about October,' Bernie Williams said. 'For the fans, it's about summer, about watching their favorite team. It's about kids being out of school, about spending a day or a great night, seeing a great game.'

Williams paused for several seconds, thinking, and added, 'It's about seeing how it all turns out.'"

  • It is obvious that Bernie loves the sport.
There is nothing like a summer filled with baseball!!
Those lazy summer games. You always want your team to win, but sometimes you just gotta smell the fresh cut grass, hot dogs cooking, hear the fans cheering, and feel the sun blazing on your shoulders. Then there is that wonderful snap of the ball being caught and the crack of the bat. It is heaven on earth.
To me October means...... the season is just about over. I am lucky that my teams usally play well into October. The winter seems depressing and endless and I start thinking about spring and those boys of summer.

  • summertime's the best part of it, for me. it's so much easier to enjoy it all then. exciting as october is, it's inevitably like a rapidfire countdown to a long baseball-barren winter.
